Chapter 360

Chapter 360
He Never Noticed Me Until I Loved Someone Else novel Chapter 360

Still reeling in shock, Stella scrambled to look up. The battered sedan had smashed violently into a thick tree right where she had been standing just seconds ago, its front end crumpled entirely inward.

Yvette, who had shoved her out of the way, was now lying limply on the curb. The car had clipped her leg, tearing open a massive, bloody gash. Crimson blood poured down her leg.

“Yvette!” Stella scrambled up in a panic and threw herself forward to help her.

Yvette was pale, her forehead slick with a cold sweat from the blinding pain, completely unable to speak.

The deafening crash drew the attention of people nearby. As pedestrians rushed over, the driver took advantage of the chaos, leaping out of the wrecked car and vanishing into the dense woods of the garden estate.

Stella didn’t have time to worry about the driver. She looked up at the gathering crowd in sheer panic, pleading, “Please, call an ambulance! Call the police!”

Just then, her phone started ringing. It was Jarrod.

Her hands trembling uncontrollably, Stella swiped to answer. Her voice broke into terrified sobs as she told Jarrod what had just happened.

Hearing her cry, Jarrod’s voice immediately tightened with panic. He forced himself to stay calm, telling her not to panic and that he was on his way.

The police arrived at the scene shortly after, securing the area with caution tape to investigate. Paramedics were right behind them, quickly bandaging Yvette’s wound and checking Stella for injuries before insisting they both go to the hospital for a thorough evaluation.

After leaving her contact information with the police, Stella rode in the ambulance with Yvette.

The moment Yvette was wheeled away for X-rays, Stella spotted Jarrod striding down the hospital corridor.

“Stella!” Jarrod’s voice was sharp with anxiety. A thin sheen of sweat covered his forehead. His dark eyes scanned her frantically, and once he confirmed she was truly okay, he pulled her into a desperate, crushing embrace.

Feeling the erratic, frantic pounding of Jarrod’s heart against her chest, the suffocating terror Stella had been holding onto finally broke, replaced by an overwhelming sense of safety.

“That car… it was inches away from hitting me…” Stella whimpered into his chest, her voice violently trembling.
