Chapter 342
He Never Noticed Me Until I Loved Someone Else novel Chapter 342
Jarrod didn’t mind the glare in the slightest. Pulling Stella into his arms, he kissed her lips and murmured huskily, “You have to consider how long I’ve been starved of this. I’m a man, not a saint. Playing the perfect gentleman while staring at you every day—I lost that battle a long time ago!”
“…” Stella’s cheeks burned scarlet. She turned around, trying to put some distance between them, but Jarrod simply hooked his arm around her waist from behind and reeled her back into his embrace.
He pressed his lips against her ear. “Stella, I’ve missed you so much. Can we speed up this probation period? I just want to fall asleep holding you every night…”
Experience told Stella that if she let this seductive tension linger, Jarrod would inevitably drag her into round two.
She simply didn’t have the stamina for it.
Mustering her resolve, Stella pushed him away. “I’m exhausted. Go sleep in the living room.”
“Stella, I promise I won’t touch you again. Just let me sleep right here,” Jarrod pleaded, trying to negotiate his way back.
“Absolutely not. You either sleep on the couch, or you go back to your own place,” Stella replied, laying down the law.
With such a stunning woman in his arms, Jarrod genuinely didn’t want to leave, but Stella’s attitude was unyielding. He couldn’t win this fight.
Besides, he had managed to coax her into bed tonight. The fact that she wasn’t actually furious was a massive stroke of luck. Pushing his boundaries any further would be playing a very dangerous game.
Reluctantly, Jarrod climbed out of bed. But before he headed out to the living room, he snagged one of Stella’s pillows, claiming that having her scent on it would help him sleep better.
Stella couldn’t be bothered to argue; she just shooed him out of the room.
Finally having successfully banished him, she locked the door, collapsed onto the mattress, and was instantly claimed by sleep.
…
The next day, unsurprisingly, Stella overslept.
When she emerged from her bedroom, Jarrod was already gone.
