Before Stella Quinn could react, Jasper Fuller rushed forward and threw a punch at Lucca Sterling.
“Who do you think you are, bullying Stella?”
Jasper pointed fiercely at Lucca, his expression rebellious as he shouted.
Lucca hadn’t expected the sudden attack. He stumbled backward, nearly dragging Aria down with him.
Already seething from Stella’s accusations with nowhere to vent, getting punched by some kid only fueled Lucca’s rage.
Wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth, Lucca ordered Aria to step aside and swung his fist at Jasper.
“Jasper, look out!”
When Lucca had pushed past her earlier, Stella had twisted her ankle. Wincing through the pain, she couldn’t reach Jasper in time and could only cry out a warning.
Although Lucca was a strong, full-grown man, Jasper was young, energetic, and constantly played sports. He didn’t take Lucca seriously at all.
As Lucca’s fist flew toward him, Jasper agilely dodged to the side. He grabbed one of Lucca’s arms and slammed him hard into the ground.
With a loud thud, Lucca’s body flipped through the air before crashing heavily onto the pavement.
A groan of pain escaped Lucca’s throat.
“Lucca, are you okay?”
Seeing him get beaten, Aria was both heartbroken and frantic.
In her fury, she pinned all her resentment on Stella. “This is all your fault! I’ll kill you!” she screamed, snatching up a brick from the ground and hurling it at Stella.
Aria moved too fast for Stella to dodge. Just as she braced for the impact, Jasper yelled, “Stop!” and quickly shielded her with his body.
The brick struck Jasper’s back before clattering to the ground. He let out a muffled grunt.
“Jasper, are you alright?” Stella asked anxiously.
