Before heading to the station for questioning, Stella requested to take Jasper to the hospital first.
It was a fact that Jasper had been injured by Aria’s brick. If Lucca tried to spin the story, they would at least have medical records as proof.
After leaving their ID and contact information with the police, Stella accompanied Jasper to the nearest emergency room.
In the car, she made the call to Summer.
“Stella, what’s up?” Summer asked gently.
Judging by her tone, Lucca hadn’t contacted her yet.
“Summer, I’m so sorry. I think I might have caused some trouble for you,” Stella said guiltily.
With a hint of realization, Summer asked, “Did you go looking for Lucca and get into a fight with him?”
After being best friends for so many years, Summer knew Stella well. She was usually quiet and avoided conflict, let alone causing trouble for others.
Connecting this to Stella mentioning she had seen Lucca earlier that afternoon, Summer instantly guessed what had happened.
Stella took a breath. “Summer, stay calm. The situation might be more serious than you think.”
Stella then recounted running into Lucca and Aria twice, as well as the intense conflict that had just unfolded.
When she finished, there was a long silence on the other end of the line.
Stella grew anxious. “Summer, are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” Summer replied softly. “I already officially broke up with him. Whatever he does has nothing to do with me anymore.”
Stella could feel her friend’s heartbreak. She apologized sincerely, “Summer, I was too impulsive. I originally planned to wait until I got back tomorrow to tell you, but I didn’t expect to run into them again…
“This is all my fault. If I hadn’t slapped Lucca, none of this would have happened, and you wouldn’t have been dragged into it.”
