The rider didn’t even slow down, twisting the throttle and violently tearing out of the hospital gates.
Stella broke out in a cold sweat, her heart slamming against her ribs so hard it felt like it would shatter her chest!
The attack happened so fast that no one had time to react. By the time bystanders pulled out their phones to record, the heavily helmeted rider had vanished completely.
Stella immediately dropped to her knees to check on the bodyguard. Seeing that the skin on his arm was badly shredded but the bone wasn’t broken, she finally exhaled a shaky breath and frantically yelled for a nurse to help bandage the wound.
Once the initial shock faded, a delayed, freezing terror washed over Stella. The rider had intentionally targeted her. This was the second attempt on her life in a matter of days.
The driver from the first crash still hadn’t been found, and now they were brazen enough to try and run her down in a hospital completely covered in security cameras!
If this truly was Silas, it meant he was pushed to the absolute edge and was ready to drag Jarrod down with him, no matter the cost!
As Stella stood there trembling violently, a tall shadow fell over her. She looked up and saw Jarrod.
He was wearing a sharp suit, clearly having just jumped out of his car and sprinted over. His handsome face was completely dark, radiating a terrifying mixture of leftover panic and absolute fury.
“Are you hurt?” His voice was deadly low, suppressing an explosive rage.
Even though she wasn’t injured, being hunted down over and over again sent a paralyzing chill straight down her spine.
Stella threw herself into Jarrod’s arms, burying her face against his chest without saying a word.
Jarrod didn’t press her. He just wrapped his arms tightly around her and led her back inside the hospital.
After ordering Arthur to handle the police and the scene outside, Jarrod took Stella to a quiet corner, wrapping his arm around her shoulders and gently patting her to calm her down.
