Chloe felt a conflicting mix of joy and misery.
She was happy that Jarrod was willing to stay and watch the movie with her. She was miserable because he was only staying because she had promised to leave Royal Oaks.
Why couldn’t Jarrod just like her? Why did he have to be so obsessed with Stella?
And then there was Sebastian, who went as far as working at SD and disregarding his own brotherhood with Jarrod, all for Stella.
Aside from being a little pretty, Stella had absolutely no other redeeming qualities. Why was she the only one they wanted?!

To prevent Jarrod from following them out and starting another fight, Stella and Sebastian took the elevator straight down to the lobby.
Stepping outside, Sebastian spoke up, his voice tinged with frustration. “I’m sorry, Stella. I ruined your night. I’ll text Joey and the others. Do you want to try a different theater?”
Stella shook her head with a light smile. “No more movies tonight. I just want to go home and get some rest early. And don’t worry, I’m not upset. What happened tonight had nothing to do with you. No one could have predicted they’d be there.”
Sebastian knew that seeing Chloe and Jarrod together had to sting Stella at least a little.
“Stella, even though I want you and Jarrod to finalize this divorce as soon as possible, I don’t want you to misunderstand his relationship with Chloe.”
Sebastian spoke honestly. “Jarrod doesn’t have any romantic feelings for Chloe. The only reason he’s looked out for her in the past is because I asked him to. He hasn’t even seen her lately, and he rarely answers her calls. Chloe has thrown several tantrums at me because of it.”
“He’s probably only having dinner and seeing a movie with her today because she pestered him until he had no choice but to cave.”
Listening to Sebastian’s explanation, Stella merely smiled. “I didn’t misunderstand anything. Even if Jarrod really is with Chloe, that’s his freedom. It has nothing to do with me.”
Seeing Stella’s indifferent demeanor, Sebastian was momentarily at a loss for words.
He couldn’t bring himself to urge Stella to give Jarrod another chance like Julian Jenson would.
