Skylar Vance’s chest heaved with agitation. “Logan, I’ve sacrificed so much for you, and all I wanted was your love in return. What did I do wrong?”
Logan Lennox found her words utterly absurd. “I believe Stella had no choice but to marry him,” he said, his voice somber. “A mercenary man like George Quinn wouldn’t have paid my medical bills out of the goodness of his heart. It’s highly likely he used that to force Stella into marrying Jarrod!”
“When I first woke up, Stella even told me her marriage was just a transaction and that she would soon be free.”
Logan stared into Skylar’s bloodshot eyes. “Even if she didn’t do it for me, she definitely had her reasons. I won’t blame her for that!”
“If you hadn’t forcibly hypnotized me and tampered with my memories, I never would have hurt her like that, let alone pushed her toward another man!” Logan’s voice rose in pitch.
Stella was the person he cherished most in the world. He had sworn to love and protect her always, but what had he done?
He had ignored her when she fell, rejected her calls and texts, spoken to her with venom, and even flaunted his intimacy with Skylar right in front of her.
The mere thought of his own actions made Logan want to slap himself across the face!

“Logan, even if Stella had a million reasons, she still chose to betray your love and marry someone else. You’ve met Jarrod several times now. Do you honestly think Stella could face a man like that every single day without catching feelings? Do you really think she’d still choose you if you hadn’t lost your memories?”
“Stop lying to yourself. You know perfectly well that the moment Stella chose to marry him, the two of you were doomed!”
Tears streamed down Skylar’s face. “Logan, what I did was wrong. But my love for you was never fake. You and Stella have no chance anymore. Just let her go, look forward, and build a life with me. Can’t we just do that?”
