Chapter 307
He Never Noticed Me Until I Loved Someone Else novel Chapter 307
Summer didn’t look back. She told the driver to go, leaving Lucca’s figure shrinking in the rearview mirror.
The car fell into silence. Stella held Summer’s hand, purposely not trying to force a conversation to comfort her. Some emotions just had to be processed alone.
About ten minutes later, Summer finally calmed down.
Stella learned that Summer had taken a red-eye flight that morning and tracked Lucca down using his phone’s location sharing.
Back when things were good, Lucca had insisted on putting the tracker on her phone, telling her she was welcome to check up on him anytime.
Summer had always believed she would never need to use it. To her bitter surprise, she did. She had vastly overestimated the strength of their relationship.
After stopping by the hotel to grab their luggage and check out, the group headed straight to the airport.
By the time they landed in Royal Oaks, it was already afternoon. Stella wanted Summer to stay at her place for a few days, but Summer politely declined, saying she needed to wrap up her job and finalize her plans to move abroad.
Stella then dropped Jasper off at his house. Eleanor was home and insisted she stay for afternoon tea.
“Come on, Stella, just sit down and have a bite!” Jasper urged as well.
Seeing that Edward and Serena weren’t home, Stella agreed to stay for a bit.
Eleanor ordered the staff to bring out pastries and casually asked if anything had happened to Stella the night before.
“I heard Jarrod rushed off to Ashford in the middle of the night and then flew right back first thing this morning.”
Stella couldn’t exactly tell Eleanor about last night’s mess. As she struggled to come up with an excuse, Jasper, who was busy playing a game nearby, blurted out, “It wasn’t anything serious! Jarrod just missed Stella!”
