Lucca was dressed in clean, casual clothes, while Aria wore an adorable Lolita dress. They were standing side by side.
Aria was gingerly holding onto Lucca’s arm, flashing him a shy, bashful smile. Lucca glanced down at her, and although his face wasn’t overflowing with tenderness, there wasn’t a single trace of irritation either!
Stella’s mind went completely blank.
What was going on?
Back in Summer’s hospital room, right before Lucca left, hadn’t he sworn up and down that he would handle Aria immediately and give Summer the closure she deserved?
So why was he parading around with Aria right here, right now?!
Staring at their undeniably intimate posture, Stella had a violent urge to storm over and demand answers on Summer’s behalf.
Just then, Jasper waved at her from up ahead. “Stella, over here!”
Stella quickly nodded at Jasper to show she had seen him.
By the time she whipped her head back around, Lucca and Aria had already vanished, presumably hopping into a car and leaving.
A sickening wave of nausea violently churned in Stella’s stomach.
Summer had literally been hospitalized from the heartbreak Aria caused. Stella had assumed Lucca was genuinely remorseful and would swiftly sever ties with the girl.
Instead, he was still tangled up with her, even bringing her on a date to a convention!
“Stella, you look so pale. Did the work meeting go bad?”
Jasper had jogged over to her side, his eyes filled with genuine concern.
Stella forced the storm of emotions down for the moment and shook her head. “No, it went fine. What do you want to eat, Jasper? Let’s go.”
Once they were seated in the taxi, Stella hesitated before pulling out her phone and shooting a quick text to Summer.
