Chapter 275

Chapter 275
He Never Noticed Me Until I Loved Someone Else novel Chapter 275

Stella stared at Jarrod’s retreating back. She opened her mouth to explain herself, to say something—anything—but the words evaporated on her tongue. In the end, she let him go in utter silence.

He pulled the front door open, pausing for a fraction of a second on the threshold. Without a single backward glance, he walked out into the hall.

She knew deep down that he had probably wanted her to ask him to stay, if only for a little while longer. But given the fragile, fractured state of their impending divorce, blurring the lines now would only make the inevitable fallout infinitely worse.

Her head pounded relentlessly, demanding she stop overthinking. Exhausted, Stella dragged herself off to her own bedroom.

The next morning, Stella was roused by the faint sound of clattering from the kitchen. She groggily rolled out of bed and padded into the living room, only to find Summer bustling about.

The devastating heartbreak that had shattered her face the night before was entirely gone, replaced by her usual composed, intellectual warmth.

“Morning,” Summer greeted her with a bright smile. “I made your favorite breakfast. It’s almost ready, so go wash up and we can eat.”

Stella eyed her suspiciously, utterly unconvinced. “Summer, are you sure you’re okay?”

Summer offered a breezy laugh. “Of course I am. Why wouldn’t I be?”

Had she drank so much that she’d entirely forgotten Aria’s psychotic little stunt? Or had Lucca texted her a masterful excuse, and she’d somehow chosen to forgive him?

Reading the blatant concern written across her best friend’s face, Summer offered a wistful smile. “I remember everything that happened last night. Lucca sent me a barrage of texts, but I haven’t bothered opening them. It’s just the same tired excuses on loop, and I honestly don’t have the energy for it anymore.”

“Relax, I promise I’m fine,” she added, gently reassuring Stella.

Stella knew her friend well enough to spot the brave facade. “So, what’s your next move? A breakup? Lucca’s not exactly going to just sign off on that.”
