Stella instinctively turned her head and actually saw Jarrod.
Wearing a perfectly tailored black suit, his handsome face was aloof and indifferent. When he saw her, his dark eyes didn’t show a ripple of emotion, as if the tireless man who had clung to her last night wasn’t him at all.
He was followed by his executive assistant, Arthur, suggesting they had just come from a business function.
Hearing George’s question, Jarrod said nothing, merely shooting Arthur a subtle glance.
The moment Arthur spoke, not only George but Sylvia was completely stunned!
She couldn’t understand how things had escalated so drastically.
As a woman with plenty of relationship experience, Sylvia could easily tell that Jarrod had at least some affection for Stella.
For a man like Jarrod, no one could force him into anything unless he was willing.
Moreover, her intuition told her that Jarrod had resolved the issue with Seraphina’s retail space simply to save Stella from being put in a difficult position.
So, watching the relationship between George and his daughter deteriorate, Sylvia had suggested bringing Stella’s grandmother to the house.
That way, Stella would definitely have to come back.
And if George used that as an excuse to invite Jarrod over, there was a ninety percent chance he would show up for Stella’s sake.
As long as Jarrod showed up at the Quinn residence, stayed for dinner, and shared a few drinks like last time, George could clear up some misunderstandings and mend their relationship.
