Term Ends in June

They teach in adjacent rooms, disagree about every syllabus decision, and have been assigned to run the school play together. Marcus thinks the exams matter more than the rehearsals; Elena thinks a fourteen-year-old who has never been told they are good at anything will remember that longer than a grade. Six weeks of auditions, paint fumes and shared marking bring them to the same argument from opposite ends. By the last night of term, the whole staff has noticed. Neither of them has admitted that the other was right about something important.
