Before Stella could argue, he draped an arm over her shoulder. “Let’s go, sweetheart.”
Stella was speechless.
And just like that, Jarrod moved into Stella’s apartment. To his credit, he kept his word and stayed in the guest room, refraining from shamelessly creeping into her bed.
It wasn’t that Jarrod didn’t want to; he was simply buried in work and stretched far too thin.
Silas had rallied several board members to attack Jarrod over multiple instances of allegedly mixing personal matters with company business.
They cited the special privileges he gave the Quinn family, the premium storefront he arranged for Seraphina, and a recent incident where he abandoned a critical overseas business trip for personal reasons, causing significant financial losses for the international division.
On top of that, several of The Fuller Group’s subsidiaries were facing major issues.
Stella hadn’t known about any of this until Eleanor called to warn her.
