Stella looked up at Jarrod. “If you can accept everything I just said, then we… can hold off on the divorce for now. Let’s try getting to know each other again.”
Upon hearing this, Jarrod’s dark eyes instantly flooded with joy. He grabbed Stella’s hands. “Stella, do you really mean it?”
Jarrod’s intense reaction made Stella feel a little self-conscious, but she nodded anyway. “Yes.”
Jarrod was genuinely thrilled. He had brought up halting the divorce more than once, and even when Stella clearly hesitated, she had still firmly rejected him.
He never expected that this time, Stella would actually say yes!
“But you have to keep your promise from last time. You won’t force me to move into The Sterling Residences with you, and you won’t interfere with my personal life. You have to honor that,” Stella reminded him.
Jarrod understood perfectly well that Stella hadn’t fully accepted him yet, nor did she have complete faith in him.
But regardless, this was a fantastic start.
They would have plenty of time to spend together in the future.
Jarrod’s mood soared. He placed a tender kiss on the back of Stella’s hand. “But I miss you every day. What if I want to see you every day?”

“Don’t push your luck.”
Stella pulled her hand back, shooting him a sideways glance. “Come to think of it, even though we’ve been married for over three years, we’ve barely spent any time getting to know each other. So, we have to take it slow.”
Watching Stella’s vibrant expression, Jarrod’s heart softened completely. He nodded along with her words, unable to suppress the smile in his eyes. “Alright, whatever you say.”
“I’ll wait until the day you fully accept me, no matter how long it takes.”
Saying that, he reached out and gently touched the back of Stella’s hand again. Seeing that she didn’t pull away, he dared to squeeze it slightly tighter. “Stella, thank you.”
