Stella thought for a moment. “Then promise me you’ll wait in the hallway. You don’t come into the room. Deal?”
Jasper reluctantly agreed.
The two of them arrived at Aria’s hospital room.
Leaving Jasper in the corridor, Stella walked in alone.
The curtains were drawn, but the bright hospital lights illuminated the room. Aria sat propped up against the headboard, pale and drawn.
Lucca stood by the window, talking to someone on his phone.
