Chapter 266
He Never Noticed Me Until I Loved Someone Else novel Chapter 266

Sebastian didn’t even glance at the screen. He delivered the final blow with absolute indifference. “Hundreds of people approach me at every gala. I don’t have the bandwidth to memorize faces. As for the contact info, you’re obviously messaging my business account. My assistant manages that account and my professional email. So no, I don’t know you.”

Seraphina swayed on her feet, the world spinning violently around her.

All those ‘intimate’ replies she had obsessed over for months? They were written by an assistant. Her entire ‘special connection’ was a humiliating delusion!

A suffocating wave of absolute shame crashed over her, turning her entire face a violent shade of purple.

Unable to endure a single second more of the devastation, her eyes welled with tears, and she bolted from the office, covering her face in total disgrace.

The room plunged into silence. Stella pinched the bridge of her nose to fight off an incoming headache. “I’m so sorry. I dragged you into my family’s mess.”

“I think I’m the one who dragged you into mine,” Sebastian countered softly.

“I truly had no idea who she was, and I definitely don’t make a habit of handing out my personal number,” he clarified smoothly. “I had no clue she thought she knew me.”

Stella offered a tired, appreciative smile. “You don’t have to explain that to me. I’m not some controlling tyrant who monitors who her business partners talk to.”

Sebastian heard the subtle boundary loud and clear. She was reminding him that they were strictly friends and colleagues. She didn’t care about his romantic entanglements.

A sharp pang of disappointment hit him. Ever since Stella found out about his ties to Jarrod, she had been aggressively neutral.

She hadn’t even bothered to yell at him for lying to her. If a woman felt anything romantic for a man, a betrayal of trust would trigger fury. Her indifference proved she saw him as nothing more than a friend.

But Sebastian knew rushing this would only backfire. Stella wasn’t even legally divorced yet, so of course she wasn’t looking at other men. As long as she didn’t hate him, he was winning.

Shaking off the gloom, he pivoted straight back to business. He laid out his sketches for the autumn collection.

“This is the third revision. I want your eyes on the color palette. Does it hit that vintage luxury aesthetic you’re aiming for?”
