Stella pressed her lips together and didn’t argue.
The following afternoon, Grandma Margaret finally regained consciousness. Stella wept tears of pure joy.
Jarrod pulled her against him, and she gently leaned her face against his chest in relief.
For the next few days, her grandmother remained under strict observation in the ICU.
Aside from two brief trips back to Royal Oaks, Jarrod practically anchored himself to Stella’s side.
A week later, Grandma Margaret finally cleared the critical phase and was transferred to a standard room.
Upon hearing the news, George Quinn and Sylvia showed up for a performative visit.
“I heard Jarrod has been bending over backward for the old lady lately?” George pried.
Stella was in no mood to dissect her father’s selfish motives. “Grandma needs to rest. You can leave now.”

“Jarrod is clearly devoted to you! All you have to do is swallow your pride, say a few sweet words, and live a good life. Stop making a massive fuss about a divorce!”
