“Stella, isn’t that Jarrod?” Summer asked, clearly surprised. “Does this mall belong to The Fuller Group?”
Stella nodded. “It must.”
“The Fuller Group really does have its hands in everything,” Summer marveled.
Stella felt a pang of realization. It was no wonder Serena looked down on her; the gap between her and Jarrod was insurmountable. If it hadn’t been for Grandpa Fuller’s arrangement, she would never have crossed paths with someone like Jarrod, let alone married him.
Perhaps their stares were too obvious, because Jarrod suddenly looked up.
When his gaze landed on Stella, his brow arched imperceptibly.
“Do you want to go say hi?” Summer asked softly.
Stella shook her head. “There’s no need.”
They had parted on terrible terms last night, and going up to him now would only make things incredibly awkward.
“Let’s just go,” Stella said, grabbing Summer’s arm and heading toward the exit.
Nearby, Seraphina watched Stella leave and scoffed inwardly. What a joke, she thought. She doesn’t even have the guts to greet her own husband.
